HP- Invent

I found a post about this video on Webinknow, a Web Marketing blog- So no, it's not fashion. Get over it!.
The video is genius, in that low-tech yet super creative (and fun to do) kind of way. But what I like the most about it is that it is the result from a contest held by Hewlett Packard for the A&AD Student Awards (So no Ad agencies or video production companies involved), with the simple brief to: "Present an idea which promotes HP Workstations ability to bring to life anything the creative mind can conceive".

Bringing it back to fashion- An industry where there's already a strong "fan engagement" going on, I think crowdsourcing videos or "empowering your fans" to create (or co-create) online content can be quite clever. The big benefit being that your company gets to interact more with its target audience (or at least, it's aspirational target audience). Isn't every brand trying to become more social these days anyways?(Yet few do it creatively).... And perhaps this is specially a good idea for young/small brands that lack the big pockets, so they can too put fresh (buzzable?) work out there.
Oh well, it's just an idea...

(This video was filmed, edited and directed by Matt Robinson and Tom Wrigglesworth)
